The diachronic substitution of “haber” by “tener” as verb of possessione in the history of Spanish has been the focus of a wide range of monographic studies. Nevertheless, previous research has not paid attention to the geographical diffusion of this change or the initial area of the innovative phase. In our study, we demonstrate that theoretical hypothesis about a linguistic change may be validated once the variants at stake are organized in the physical, as well as variational, space.

Abstract
The diachronic substitution of “haber” by “tener” as verb of possessione in the history of Spanish has been the focus of a wide range of monographic studies. Nevertheless, previous research has not paid attention to the geographical diffusion of this change or the initial area of the innovative phase. In our study, we demonstrate that theoretical hypothesis about a linguistic change may be validated once the variants at stake are organized in the physical, as well as variational, space.File in questo prodotto:
