In this article I want to identify how metafiction, documentary and hybridization of genres affect the construction of historical memory. I propose to examine to what extent literary language, with its ability to penetrate and create situations of contamination is best suited to address a number of issues in a less ideological and emotional manner as those posed by traditional historical memory. My thesis is that literature manages to recover or recreate the memories erased, giving voice to repressed memories. I analyze two novels in which there is particular attention to memory, Soldados de Salamina by Javier Cercas and Camí de Sirga by Jesús Moncada.

Abstract
In this article I want to identify how metafiction, documentary and hybridization of genres affect the construction of historical memory. I propose to examine to what extent literary language, with its ability to penetrate and create situations of contamination is best suited to address a number of issues in a less ideological and emotional manner as those posed by traditional historical memory. My thesis is that literature manages to recover or recreate the memories erased, giving voice to repressed memories. I analyze two novels in which there is particular attention to memory, Soldados de Salamina by Javier Cercas and Camí de Sirga by Jesús Moncada.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
