The conservation of stone architectural surfaces, whether natural or artificial, has developed considerably in the last few decades, not only for the quantity of techniques, but also for the great development in the products and technologies employed in these interventions. The Normal standards/ guidelines for the restoration sector were published in 1985 with important information on technology, methods, indication about selection of products, etc. The basic principles and theories of that time have not change to a great extent, but has however to be reconsidered according to specific studies and investigations case by case. All those data and criteria results in the diagnostic project that sees the union between the historical archive and the results coming from the characterization of degradation processes, of the materials and products of previous interventions, of the environmental conditions, etc.. The present work evaluates and discusses the different points involved aiming to the definition of the most suitable interventions and operating methods for the restoration of the Ghirlandina Tower.

Abstract
The present work evaluates and discusses the different points involved aiming to the definition of the most suitable interventions and operating methods for the restoration of the Ghirlandina Tower.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
