The oxidation of olefins with hydrogen peroxide catalyzed by a Pt(II)/M bimetallic system is reported where M = Rh, Ir, Pd complexes. While with the former two metals no oxidation is obtained, with (dppe)Pd(CF3)(solv)+ the reaction selectively produces ketones. This appears to be a genuine example of bifunctional catalysis. © 1990 Academic Press Inc.

Abstract
The oxidation of olefins with hydrogen peroxide catalyzed by a Pt(II)/M bimetallic system is reported where M = Rh, Ir, Pd complexes. While with the former two metals no oxidation is obtained, with (dppe)Pd(CF3)(solv)+ the reaction selectively produces ketones. This appears to be a genuine example of bifunctional catalysis. © 1990 Academic Press Inc.File in questo prodotto:
