The article is part of the results of the international ARCANE project, devoted to the synchronisation of Early Bronze Age chronologies in the Ancient Near East and in the Eastern Mediterranean. It provides an updated syntehsis of third millennium BC ceramic developments in the Syrian Jezirah, thereby developing new, clear definitions of ceramic "wares", morphological types and decorations and discussing their diganostic value in terms of chronology.
