Linguaggi della politica e lessico costituzionale: Filangieri e i traduttori tedeschi

This research focuses on the political language of Gaetano Filangieri and on the difference between the constitutional language Montesquieu’s and Filangieri’s through lexical observations. The use of the words "costitution", "law", “reason”, "public opinion" in the passages in which Filangieri distinguishes his own aim from Montesquieu’s would thus be the attempt to make explicit the constant relation between of law and right ["legge"/"diritto", “right” or “law”], which does not change with the changing of the public opinion in the late Enlightenment. On the basis of this premises would it be possible to individuate - according to Filangieri - the ways by which to improve the existing political language.
