This chapter examines the main features of the housing market in the metropolitan area of Milan at the turn of the last decade of the century. In the first part we consider the main structural aspects by referring to trends in the single municipalities and urban rings. In the second part we focus on the differences in price trends in the main Italian urban centres and on prices, costs and investments in Milan.
