Umriss der Theorie der Problemgeschichte

Twentieth-century history of philosophy was influenced by the two avant-garde methodologies of the Begriffsgeschichte and of the history of ideas. Before sharing ideas and concepts, however, the various civilizations share problems and their solutions. In this paper I propose a shift from the old histories of concepts and of ideas to a new history of problems. My theory of history of problems is not a revival of the platonic Problemgeschichte of Nicolai Hartmann but it is based on hermeneutics as well as on the recent developments of the ontology. The first part of the paper is a historical reconstruction of the most meaningful advancements in the histories of concepts, of ideas and of problems and an assessment of their limits. The second part consists of an exposition of the basic characteristics of a new approach to the history of problems.
