Abstract

This article analyzes the strategies of representation of the body in the story of mexican author Guadalupe Nettel (1973). The concept of dissonance (Adorno 1975) will allow us to study how the bodies of the characters appear as a malleable material, which deconstructs and reconstructs itself to discuss the conventional paradigm of beauty and offer an unstable image of the subject’s identity.
