This essay analyses the specificity of Emilio Salgari's case in Argentina and the inseparable relationship between popular literature and comic, through a consideration about his reception, reader's reception and recurring themes in his work. To this purpose, the article focuses on Salgari's presence on the collective imaginary. In fact, the presence of Salgari's novels in Argentina allows the circulation of literature between migrants through comic book's adaptations. This kind of adaptation makes it possible to reuse literary texts and have a wide diffusion through different communications system reaching other kind of readers.

Abstract
