Everyday Geographies and Hidden Memories. Remembering Denis Cosgrove

One of the aims and challenges of this collection of essays is the achievement of pieces of writing that manage to creatively intertwine personal narrative and cultural geography. As a whole, the volume is meant as a sort of backstage of our scholarly lives, showing how everyday interactions and exchanges with Denis were interwoven in our biographies. This specific approach attempts to develop a common ground within the multifaceted geo-humanistic trajectories allowing the recovery of individual narratives. Despite the small numbers of contributors, an alternative form of writing has anyway emerged, exploring the potential relationships between personal memory and learned studies. It goes without saying that researcher’s memories are highly intertwined and co-defined thanks to the specific cultural and social context surrounding her/him.
