This paper aims to analyze the relationship existing between friendship and democracy in a text of Derrida's final thought: The Politics of Friendship. The purpose of the essay is, in particular, to 1) to show how the link between democracy and friendship is built in greek thought and 2) to problematize, through Levinasian notion of «hospitality», the question of «democracy- to-come» highlighted by Derrida in the final phase of his thought.
