Analisi contrastiva dell'inventario fonetico giapponese/italiano. Per una trascrizione fonetica del giapponese standard

The aim of this paper is the encoding of a consistent system of phonetic transcription of standard Japanese for Italian speakers’ use. Through a contrastive analysis of Japanese and Italian phonetic inventories, appropriate phonetic symbols from the International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA) will be selected for a broad phonetic transcription of standard Japanese. In selecting symbols and diacritics, attempts at phonetic transcription found in previous studies will be considered. A con-ventional system of phonetic transcription may be used in the compilation of bilingual dictionaries, as a tool in the teaching of Japanese as second language (L2) and as a reference system in studies of phonetics, phonology and Japanese dialectology.
