War in the Trebnik of St. Peter Mogila [Mohyla] The famous Trebnik (Euchologion) of St. Peter Mogila contains a large number of liturgical services pertaining to internal and external conflicts and hostilities. They are organized in three circles: heretics (Catholics and Protestants), apostates (Uniates) and pagans (Muslims); Jews occupy a special position, serving as a bad example for the first two categories. There is a group of services for the blessing of armies, banners and weapons, and such liturgical texts gain significant popularity during specific historical moments. As an example, the paper treats the motif of the blessing of the knives from the haidamaky uprisings in the 18th century, the blessing of weapons during the Volhynia (Volyn) massacre (1943), as well as the revival of military and Cossack rituals in the Russian Federation.
