The hydrocarboxylation of propene with MeOH or BuOH in the presence of [PdCl2(PPh3)2] and PPh3 occurs with high regioselectivity for the linear ester, particularly at low CO pressures. In the case of MeOH, the yield is almost independent of CO pressure; in the case of BuOH, the yield decreases with decreasing pressure. With BuOH the yield can be increased in the presence of mol. H while maintaining the high selectivity.

Abstract
The hydrocarboxylation of propene with MeOH or BuOH in the presence of [PdCl2(PPh3)2] and PPh3 occurs with high regioselectivity for the linear ester, particularly at low CO pressures. In the case of MeOH, the yield is almost independent of CO pressure; in the case of BuOH, the yield decreases with decreasing pressure. With BuOH the yield can be increased in the presence of mol. H while maintaining the high selectivity.File in questo prodotto:
