In this work I analyze two kinds of parentheticals: the introducing predicates of Free Indirect Discourse and Quotations. I argue in favor of a theory integrating prosodical informations in the syntax and show that this move might solve several long-standing questions concerning the prosody-syntax interface.

Abstract
