More than 1000 seal impressions of the EJ IIIb period have been unearthed during the 2006-2009 seasons in the southern section of the Upper City mound (Fields M and S) of Tell Beydar in north-eastern Syria. In field M, door sealings are by far the most common type; a few images (mostly belonging to the Brak or to the Beydar style) occur much more frequently than the remaining ones. The assemblage from Field S, though smaller, is comparatively more diversified both in the number of images (several of which are duplicated on sealings form other excavation areas) and in the types of sealings. Especially characteristic of this field are seals on two registers a very fine miniaturistic style.

Abstract
More than 1000 seal impressions of the EJ IIIb period have been unearthed during the 2006-2009 seasons in the southern section of the Upper City mound (Fields M and S) of Tell Beydar in north-eastern Syria. In field M, door sealings are by far the most common type; a few images (mostly belonging to the Brak or to the Beydar style) occur much more frequently than the remaining ones. The assemblage from Field S, though smaller, is comparatively more diversified both in the number of images (several of which are duplicated on sealings form other excavation areas) and in the types of sealings. Especially characteristic of this field are seals on two registers a very fine miniaturistic style.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
