The analysis reviews the main contrasts between the two facing adverbs taking into account their syntactic, semantic and pragmatic properties and emphasizing that, while the Italian adverb presents temporary values oriented towards the past and it is perfective in its aspect, the Spanish adverb can be oriented towards the past and the future and can assume an inchoative aspect.
