The work discusses Rolf Thiele's film and Erich Kuby's Roman "Das Mädchen Rosemarie" (1958) as an example of how literature, cinema and history are able to convey a vivid fresco of a decade. Both the regisseur and the writer pick up some crime news and a political scandal to denounce the surviving of Third Reich lobbies in the GFR of the Fifties. Both the film and the novel, where politics as well as the so-called economic miracle are dealt with, are interpreted through the lens of Roland Barthes "Mythologies".
